The Foundation focuses its grant gifting in Stark County, Ohio.

Does the Foundation give grants to organizations outside of Stark County?
The Foundation does approve grants to organizations outside of Stark County, if residents of Stark County benefit from the grant.

How do I apply for a grant?
In order to apply for a grant, fill out the Grant Application, and include the items listed on the Grant Guidelines Procedures and send the original with four copies to the Foundation's office.

How many copies of the proposal should I submit?
One original and four copies of the entire grant proposal and attatchments are required.

Is there a limit on the dollar amount of the grant that I request?
There is no limit on the amount of a grant proposal; however, collaboration with other funders is strongly encouraged.

Does the Foundation grant multi-year or matching grants?
The Foundation does grant multi-year and matching grants. Matching funds with other organizations is strongly encouraged.

What are the deadlines for proposals?
Deadlines for grant proposals submissions are:

  • April 30 for June meeting
  • July 31 for September meeting
  • September 30 for November meeting
  • December 31 for February meeting

May I apply for a grant via e-mail or facsimile?
Because of the attachments required, grant proposals must be mailed in their entirety to the Foundation's office.

Does the Foundation meet with organizations to discuss applications prior to the Trustees' meeting?
If further information is needed after receiving the grant proposal, the organization will be contacted for a telephone conference, meeting, or site visit.

What are the dates of the Trustees' meetings?
The trustees meet quarterly in February, June, September, and November.

How is the final decision on whether or not to fund a project made?
All requests received by the Foundation are evaluated based on the most appropriate fit with the Foundation's mission and the funds available for such a request.

When and how will I be notified of the Trustees' decision?
Applicants of grant proposals will be notified in writing of the Trustees' decision within four weeks after the Trustees' meeting.

How often can my organization apply for a grant?
New grant requests may be submitted quarterly to the Foundation.

Can I reapply for a grant that has been denied?
The Foundation generally does not re-consider grant proposals that have been denied previously.
